St. Stephen’s New Sound System

The sound system of St. Stephen’s church has long been hopelessly out of date. No one remembers when it was first installed, nor does anyone really understand anymore how it works. It frequently shows its age with unexplained screeches and regular break-downs. We’ve looked for years for someone capable of either fixing it or replacing it. The person did not seem to exist.

Then finally this past Fall I found James Freeze, a highly qualified specialist in church sound systems just like our own. After extensive investigation, he recommended that we replace our overly complicated and long-outdated system with something new and much simpler. We could not have agreed more.

As of Thursday, January 29, he is hard at work to replace the system by this weekend Friday. Once in place, the new system should provide several more mics than we presently have. (At the moment we only have one working mic.) The LEMs will have much-needed mics, and there will be hand-held mics for times when they are needed. We will have an expanded sound system we can count on!

I want to add that all this is happening because of a generous gift by Mary & Andrew Ludwick, offered in memory of her late husband Ed Ludwick. Ed was a skilled guitarist and talented musician who loved everything about music. He built out his own music room at home with an eclectic collection of guitars and a recording system of his own. This gift is a wonderful way to honor his memory. Please thank Mary or Andrew the next time you see them.
