Morning Music - Poetry of God’s World

I go to turn on the classical music station

But instead the sweet morning draws me in

I listen not to Chopin but to the unfurling day

Rolling tires crunching along the driveway

Neighbors cheerful morning greetings

Laundry room machines hum and tumble

Garbage truck dumping dumpsters at Safeway

Singing wind chimes

Rabbit’s padded hops

Hummingbird’s quick click

I am so glad I chose the morning sounds

I may have missed the ruby throated bird
